Individual Truckle of Cheddar

It can be hard to get your hands around our large truckles of Cheddar!  Weighing between 25 to 28 Kg; they can be a heavy load to bear. Yet who can resist the notion of having your very own truckle to share? Our miniature cheese fits that bill perfectly. 

Small (and perfectly formed) this truckle comes with all the flavour you’d expect from our handmade artisan cheddars. Like all our traditional cheeses, it is made using unpasteurised milk and matured in cloth. Being smaller - it comes with a surprising twist - it matures a little quicker because of its size and develops a unique character all of its own. It is a delightful cheddar with plenty of zesty attitude!

We believe it offers the discerning customer a unique, small ‘whole cheese’ of the same quality you’d expect from The Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company. While that quality is always constant, due to its size and rate of maturity, the strength and character of the truckle can vary.

The truckle is presented within a box, and the weight is between 750g and 850g. Truckle dimensions: approximately 140mm (5.5") diameter x 50mm (2") deep.

Cut away the cloth to tuck into this little beauty. It makes a lovely stunning centerpiece for any table and the perfect gift for any cheese aficionado. We may be a little biased, but this is a real treat in any recipe or dish looking for some real depth of cheese flavor.

All our authentic cheddars are made the same way, just selected according to where and for how long they have been matured.

We avoid 13 of the 14 known allergens at our dairy – other than the unpasteurised cow’s MILK. We make all of our cheese from cow's MILK.

Energy 1774kj, 427kcal. Fat 33.4g of which saturates 24.1g. Carbohydrate 0.1g of which sugars <0.1g. Protein 26.5g. Salt 1.5g.

We have analysed our cheese for nutritional values, but please do bear in mind artisan cheeses, made from raw milk are not standardised and values may vary throughout the year depending on the season, what the cows are eating and the number of cows in the herd. We buy from one farm only, so this affects the variation significantly.
