Our naturally smoked cheese is a revelation that we are delighted to be able to share. The same applies to tasting its soft and subtle, almost honey-like sweetness. This is definitely not one of those smoked cheeses that have been dyed, painted or injected for flavour. Absolutely everything here is 100% natural.
When we say smoking, we mean smoking! This means a cold smoking process over smouldering oak chippings. This process is gentle, subtle and takes many hours to impart a rather special smoke taste; think bonfire night or wood-burning stoves. The taste is incomparable.
Our Oak Smoked Cheddar is award-winning, having won First Prize at The Devon County Show in 2017, and in addition, taking the overall champion product in the show! Second prize at the 2019 Devon County Show.
